Gents’ bicycle (reparation bike) Diamant, 1950
Made in Siegmar-Schönau, Germany, as a compensation to the Soviet Union for war damages. Frame serial no 1579912.
Due to difficult post-war times, the bike has only a few chromed details, colour comes from painted parts.
The bicycle has preserved as brand new – it was stored in dry attic after purchasing. Bike had no tyres – it could have been delivered to the Soviet Union without tyres (this method was used for some reparation bikes) and remained without tyres for decades.
This bicycle is probably one of the best-preserved Diamant reparation-bikes worldwide.
