History of bicycle from the Estonian viewpoint
- "Running machine" of Karl Drais and similar items (before 1880s) - these few bicycles were used for entertainment purposes, not for a everyday's transport
- High Wheel or Penny-Farthing (1880-90s) - it was possible to ride, but it was quite dangerous
- Appearence of a safety bicycle (about 1890) - quite a safe riding, bicycle became a real transportation vechicle
- The 1900-10s - there were some bicycles in Estonia but they were rare expensive
- Shaft-driven bicycles - did not spread widely
- The 1920s - a lot of import bicycles and a lot of local workshops (which assemble bicycles)
- Second half of 1930s - some bigger bicycle producers in Estonia
- Suspension - was already used in 1920-30s, but wasn't widely spread
- Bicycle gearing - before WWII was quite rare in Estonia, mass-appeared here during 1950-60s
- Special purpose bicycles - mainly cargo bicycles and railway bicycles (before WWII)
- Early 1940s- WWII left here (to Estonia) a lot of German military bicycles
- Late 1940s - a lot of German (war reparation) bicycles appeared here
- The 1950s - "Golden era" of bicycles made in Riga Factories
- Motorised bicycles - some of these appeared already before WWII, mass-spread since 1957
- The 1960-80s - typical Soviet bicycles
- Hiking and sports bicycles - first mass-spread bicycles in Estonia with gears (Turist, Sputnik, Start-Shossee)
- Kids' and youth bicycles - Ereliukas, Shkolnik, "foldable", Saljut
