Cargo Bicycle Long John, 1940

Made in Denmark, probably in some small factory.

Cargo bicycle with extended front has 26" rear wheel and small reinforced 20" front wheel, which extends in front of the handlebar by means of intermediate lever. In between there is a goods platform, frame tube of which is secured by a special tie in the bottom. Such construction of cargo bicycles - called "Long John" started in Denmark in 1923. The preserved pre-WWII Long John is quite a rare bicycle now.

Fixed up in 2013 (including replacement of some of the missing details).
